If every human climbed aboard one side of a scale, and every ant crawled onto the other side, the scale would just about balance.
I think this actually says more about the size of the human population than that of the ant population. If the statistical figure I referenced previously is correct, then this would mean that up to 40% of all terrestrial animal biomass is made up of either ants, humans, or both! To get a better picture of what this means, think of a pie. Now imagine that 40% of this pie is made up of either ants, humans, or both. Woah.
